Municipal Elections in Norðurþing 2026

The municipal elections in Norðurþing will be held on Saturday, 16 May 2026.

If you cannot vote on election day, you can vote early at the offices of the District Commissioners or cast an absentee ballot.

You can also vote early at the following locations:

Raufarhöfn Norðurþing office, Aðalbraut 23.
Every weekday from 4 May to 15 May 09:00 – 12:00 and by appointment.

Kópasker Norðurþing office, Bakkagata 10.
-  Wednesday 6 May: 13:00 – 15:00
-  Monday 11 May: 13:00 – 15:00
-  Wednesday 13 May: 13:00 – 15:00

You can check your polling station by searching for your personal ID (kennitala) in the electoral roll at www.kosning.is. Further information about eligibility and voting procedures is also available on www.kosning.is
